Legal Issues in the Olympic Movement

By: Sports Circle Indy

On October 23rd, 2019, Sports Circle Indy in collaboration with the Sports Lawyers Association, Morgan Stanley, and Quarles & Brady held a seminar at the BMO Plaza Conference Center about the biggest challenges that are facing the Olympic movement.

The panelists included several well-established executives who work in the USOPC and governing bodies including USOPC General Counsel member Chris McCleary, U.S. Equestrian General Counsel & Senior Vice President Sonja Keating, USA Hockey General Counsel member Casey Jorgensen, USA Gymnastics Legal Counsel member Mark Busby, and USATF Chief of Business & Legal Affairs/Sports Circle Indy President Norman Wain. This discussion was moderated by Sports Circle Indy Board Member and Quarles & Brady Partner Joel Tragesser.

This discussion was a unique opportunity to be able to hear from internal Olympic Committee members as they navigate legal issues from sexual abuse to board and governance issues and everything in between. They also brought valuable insight as to how they are preparing for the upcoming Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Sports Circle Indy members had the opportunity to get 50% off their admission price as well as being able to acquire a CLE credit in Indiana. If you would like to become a member to Sports Circle Indy to gain access to events like these, SIGN UP HERE TO GET STARTED!
